This blog and is year-long experiment inspired by Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Ann Voskamp who discovered the secret to living life at its fullest. The secret? Thankfulness. Time slows and joy increases as we stop to acknowledge the numerous gifts we have and the One that gave them. Ultimately, this blog is inspired by God. I want to intentionally look for God's gifts this year, the inklings, the hints of His grace that are evident in our daily lives. Want to journey with me?

"When I realize that it is not God who is in my debt but I who am in His great debt, then doesn't all become gift?

For He might not have." -Ann Voskamp

Last weekend I put into practice 1 Thessalonians 2:8 "Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."

I went to the campus pool with two friends and helped teach them how to swim. One girl was a beginner and to the other one swimming was a completely foreign concept! One of the things that I love about children is watching them learn and discover new things and to see their first reactions, but seeing that discovery in a twenty-something year old brought me so much joy! A little bit of fear mixed with curiosity and desire to learn. She jumped in the water and immediately said "Wooaa! It's pushing me up!"

I'd never considered swimming with the words she used to describe it. Seeing this new perspective was quite delightful! These are the things that reveal to me God's goodness.
